Connecting the dots for
your healing journey

At Identity Paradox Therapy, we believe counselling and psychotherapy should be accessible to anyone who is currently facing struggles in life and/or is interested in self-discovery by untangling your current situation with a therapist.

Counselling psychotherapy is a unique environment where a therapist can offer; emotional understanding and connections on the personal level, offering some theory-based explanations to “make sense” of the situation and issues you are experiencing, and become the person you feel comfortable and confident for who you are.

Relationships
Oftentimes, when we face struggles in our relationships, whether it’s a romantic relationship, friendship or between family members, we experience feeling misunderstood and unheard. About Nina

I’ve always been interested in people: How we think, feel and communicate with each other. During my training, I was lucky to meet many clients from various backgrounds and ages.

This reinforced the idea that how individual differences are important to recognise beyond the diagnostic labels they may have.

It has been such a privilege to witness my clients’ abilities to embrace themselves once they realise their potential and the benefits of the therapy.

Because of this, I care about building trusting therapeutic relationships with my clients and I enjoy the process of getting to know each client and learning from them.

A place we can both
connect

The room is made for therapeutic purposes; the quiet and comfortable environment creates a relaxing atmosphere.

It is in the heart of Manchester, so it’s very accessible by public transport.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Identity Paradox Therapy (IDPT)?

Identity Paradox Therapy (IDPT) was created based on the belief of focusing on individual uniqueness and finding such strength through a therapeutic approach: It is hard to ignore that our mental health conditions and emotional and psychological state affect, and have been affected, by interactions with others (e.g., family members, friends, partners, co-workers etc..) Those interactions have a strong impact on us and often affect us in ways we can lose the sense of who we are or who we are supposed to be. Hence, one of the IDPT’s aims is to regain or discover your “core self” by healing from social judgements.

Each client has their reason for coming to therapy: Whether it’s about work stress, relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma etc… Whatever the struggles you are facing currently, each person brings their unique story with them. This makes the relational dynamic between the client and therapist unique, as nobody is the same despite the diagnostic label you may have. This means we are “working together” and “being on the same page” as our therapeutic journey will have the component to find the solution and heal your emotional wounds.

The short answer to this is, “as many as you feel you need”: Issues that life can bring us can be very broad – You may seek therapy for a specific reason, or it might be something complex which you have struggled with for a long time. Whatever the struggles you might be facing, many clients discover deep-rooted causes that contributed to the current situation, and they often decide that they want more sessions than they originally thought. However, it is always up to the client to decide when to end the therapy.

Individual clients £40 (50 minutes session), and £50 for a couple (50 minutes session).
